Yann Joly, University of Montreal
Me. Yann Joly, L.L.B., L.L.M., is a distinguished lawyer and project manager at the Centre de recherche en droit public at the Université de Montréal. He currently is an ethical and legal consultant in the biotech industry and provides advice on socio-ethical issues related to biotechnological research. He has collaborated extensively with the industry and currently is a member of the Independent Ethics Advisory Board of Genizon BioSciences Inc., where he advises the company on good ethical practices and policies.
Me. Joly is the North American coordinator of the Association for Research and Formation in Medical Law. He worked as a sessional lecturer at McGill University where he taught intellectual and industrial property at the Faculty of Law. Me. Joly sat as a legal advisor on several of the Ethic Committees of the McGill University Health Centre from 2004 to 2006. He was a member of the External Working Group on the Registration and Disclosure of Clinical Trial Information (EWG-CT) put together by Health Canada in 2006. Me. Joly currently is a member of associations such as Regenerative Medicine Economic, Legal and Social Issues Network (RMEthnet), the Association for Research in Medical Law (ARFDM), and the Quebec Network of Applied Genetic Medicine.
