Sheila Weatherill

Sheila Weatherill was the President and CEO of Capital Health in Edmonton during the time it was rated #1 among the country’s major academic health systems for four years in a row by Maclean’s Magazine and the Canadian Institute for Health Information.  She received the Order of Canada for her leadership of this organization which has been described as a model for the future of our publicly funded health system. 

Her track record reflects success in identifying creative strategies and implementing new initiatives to meet the challenges of a complex and changing health environment.  The University of Lethbridge conferred upon her the degree of Doctor of Laws, honoris causa, for her dedication to enhancing the public health system in Canada and for serving as a role model for what effective leaders can accomplish in their community.
