Robert (Bob) Hancock

Bob Hancock is a leading Microbiologist in Canada and holder of a Canada Research Chair. His research interests include small cationic peptides as novel antimicrobials and modulators of innate immunity, the development of novel treatments for antibiotic resistant infections, the systems biology of innate immunity and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and antibiotic uptake and resistance. He has published more than 500 papers and reviews, has 39 patents awarded and has won the Aventis Pharmaceuticals Award and Canada’s three top prizes for Health Research (Killam, CIHR Michael Smith Prize and McLaughlin Medal), and is an Officer of the Order of Canada.
