Murray Huff is a distinguished scientist who has achieved international recognition for his studies on atherosclerosis, which results in coronary artery disease (heart attacks), cerebral vascular disease (strokes) and other vascular problems. His studies produce a better understanding of the molecular events underlying the development of atherosclerosis, and are aimed at discovering and evaluating methods to inhibit the development of disease. He has proven an exemplary teacher and mentor of young students and researchers and is extraordinarily generous with his time in providing leadership roles in the service of national/international research organizations promoting research into cardiovascular diseases.
