Dr. Louise Nasmith received her MD from McGill University in 1978 and CCFP in 1982. She has a background in Family Medicine leadership having served as Chair at McGill University and the University of Toronto, Acting-Chair at the University of British Columbia and President of the College of Family Physicians of Canada. In June 2007, she was appointed Principal of the College of Health Disciplines at the University of British Columbia. For the last decade, Louise has focused on integration of care for chronic illness and interdisciplinary care, including promoting self-care, and has worked with educators, practitioners, health authorities, Health Canada and Government to advance collaborative practice and inter-professional education in various jurisdictions within Canada
