Dr. Joaquin Madrenas is an internationally renowned immunologist and a leader in the field of T cell biology and the development of immunity. He is the Tier I Canada Research Chair in Immunobiology, professor of Microbiology &Immunology and Medicine at The University of Western Ontario, and head of Immunology at Robarts Research Institute. He was awarded the first FOCIS Centre of Excellence in Clinical Immunology in Canada and led the establishment of the Centre for Human Immunology at Western. He is also a leader in the promotion of health research in Canada and in the dissemination of the benefits of this research to the public.
