Jacques Genest

Jacques Genest’s research focuses on the genetic basis of coronary artery disease and the role of high density lipoproteins (HDL) in atherosclerosis. His team has contributed to the identification of genes involved in HDL metabolism. He has been involved in designing and running large clinical trials. He is a reviewer for many scientific journals and granting agencies. He has published over 225 peer-reviewed manuscripts and 18 book chapters. For the past 15 years, he has participated in the Canadian Cholesterol Guidelines and has contributed the chapter on lipoprotein disorders and cardiovascular disease in Braunwald’s Heart Disease: A Textbook of Cardiovascular Disease.
