Christopher H. Mody

Dr. Mody is an internationally recognized clinician scientist in respiratory infections and host defense, and on the pathogenesis of infections in cystic fibrosis. He is a world leader on the ability of lymphocytes to kill microbes such as Cryptococcus, a yeast that kills almost 700,000 persons per year. Dr. Mody has been involved in writing international guidelines for the management of fungal infections, and he has trained a number of scientists and clinicians who now hold faculty positions at major universities worldwide. In addition, he has held numerous leadership roles in national and international organizations.
