Carole Estabrooks is an international leader in knowledge translation science. A member of the CIHR Institute of Aging Advisory Board, she directs the Knowledge Utilization Studies Program, Faculty of Nursing, University of Alberta, and holds a Canada Research Chair in Knowledge Translation. Dr. Estabrooks is developing research utilization theory that can be used to increase the use of research by health professionals thereby improving patient outcomes, particularly in elder care settings. A sought-after speaker, her research is widely cited, and she is the founder of the international Knowledge Utilization Colloquia.
